Schumacher Electric was founded in 1998 by David Charles Schumacher as a small, one-person electrical contractor providing top quality residential electrical services. Schumacher Electric quickly experienced tremendous growth in the Southeast Michigan Region and began specializing in commercial electrical services. In 2017, Schumacher Electric further expanded it's business into the Northern Michigan Region and opened up an office in Interlochen, MI as demand in that region grew.
Demand for experienced commercial and residential electrical services are at an all-time high. Schumacher Electric prides itself on completing jobs in a professional and timely manner and currently employs over 35 full-time team members throughout Southeast Michigan and Northern Michigan. Job lists and services include grocery stores, hotels, restaurants, retail stores, strip malls, commercial service changes, commercial generators and a specialty niche in commercial refrigeration controls.
With over 35 full-time employees, we are always looking to further expand our team to better serve both the Southern and Northern Michigan Regions. Demand for experienced journeyman electricians and new apprentices is at an all time high and we are currently seeking out experienced and hardworking professionals to join our team. Schumacher Electric has been working with a recruiting agency, advertising at trade schools and actively spreading the need for journeymen and apprentices throughout the industry. As Schumacher Electric continues to grow, we are able to find quality candidates to add to our team, but many have very little electrical experience. With current workload and project demands, the only way to grow and satisfy our customer base is to train fresh team members in the electrical field. Schumacher Electric offers a four-year electrical apprentice program that has been vital to our success and growth.
The electrical apprenticeship schooling is a four-year program that is coupled with four years of full-time on-the-job training and experience. Both the team member and the employer take on a substantial commitment when deciding to proceed with this training program. Unlike some training programs and degrees, when the apprentice completes this four-year commitment, he or she is fully prepared to become a licensed journeymen electrician having four years of schooling and job experience. This is a very desirable license to hold and can provide a rewarding career and is an essential part of every successful electrical company.
